16. Revival of Navadvipa Dhama

16. Revival of Navadvipa Dhama:

"When our Lord disappears, by His desire, the Ganges will swell. The Ganges water will almost cover Mäyäpur for 100 years, and then the water will again recede. For some time only the place will remain, devoid of houses. Then again, by the Lord's desire, this place will become prominent, and people will live in Māyāpur as before. All these ghatas on the bank of the Ganges will again be manifest, and the devotees will build temples of the Lord. One exceedingly wonderful temple will appear, from which Gauranga's eternal service will be preached everywhere.

Praudhā Māyā and Vṛddha Siva will again come and perform their duties of revealing the spiritual dhama according to the Lord's desire. In this way, by the Lord's wish, the devotees will reveal the lost places. Know this for certain. At the end of 400 years, the task of recovering the lost tirthas will begin."

The dhamas are sometimes manifest and at other times unmanifest in accordance with the pastimes and will of the Lord. And again, by the desire of the Lord, such "lost" holy tirthas are reinstated through the medium of His pure devotees. Lord Caitanya instructed Rúpa and Sanatana Gosvamis to re-establish the lost tirthas in Vrindávana. Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakura was also instructed to reinstate the pastime places in Navadvipa-dhama.

Gaura-kisora dāsa Bābāji described the spiritual powers of the Lord's devotees to reveal the Lord's dhāmas as follows: "The words of those great souls who have already uncovered the birth site of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu by the power of their bhajana are the genuine, conclusive proof. The lost holy places of Mahaprabhu cannot be revealed in dreams alone. Holy places reveal themselves to the pure devotees, and those saintly persons do not restore the lost tirthas for the sake of acquiring wealth. Only those who are Gauränga's personal associates can re-establish the lost birthplace of Gauranga. Others do not have such spiritual power. By the power of their knowledge and proper discrimination, Srila Jagannatha dăsa Bäbäji and Thakura Bhaktivinoda have discovered the real birth site of Mahaprabhu, just as Advaita ācārya brought about the advent of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu."
