18. Predictions Fulfilled

18. Predictions Fulfilled:

Through his society, ISKCON, Srila Prabhupāda established the preaching mission of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu all over the world and in doing so fulfilled the prediction of Caitanya Mahaprabhu:

prthivite ache yata nagaradi grama,

sarvatra pracăra haibe more năma

"In every town and village in the world, My name will be heard."

Srila Prabhupada also fulfilled the predictions of Bhaktivinoda Thakura, who wrote in his “Caitanya Siksämrta”, that in a future time devotees from America, France, Russia, China, Europe, etc. would join with their Indian godbrothers in Navadvipa- dhama and dance and chant "Jai Sacinandana!" together. He also wrote that a great personality would appear in the future to fulfil this prediction.

In his book “Caitanya Mangalā”, Locana dasa Thakura wrote, "Lord Caitanya said, 'I want to flood the whole world with the chanting of the holy names. I will personally preach and flood India with harināma-sankirtana. My senapati (commander-in- chief) bhakta will come, preach in distant countries and flood the world with the chanting of Hare Krsna." Time has shown that this senapati-bhakta is Srila Prabhupāda, the founder-ācārya of ISKCON. Personally however, Srila Prabhupāda always thought of himself as nothing more than the insignificant servant of his gurudeva. He attributed all success to the mercy of his spiritual master and the previous ācāryas. He saw everything, including his many disciples, as being sent by his spiritual master, Srila Bhaktisiddhänta Sarasvati Thakura Prabhupada, to help him fulfil his mission to Lord Caitanya and the parampara.

Along with preaching Krsna consciousness and the chanting of the Lord's names all over the world, Srila Prabhupada and his ISKCON have spread the glories of Sri Navadvipa-dhama throughout the world. Therefore, we see an ever-increasing number of foreign and Indian visitors coming here every day to get the causeless mercy of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu and His dhama.

"One easily becomes free from the bondage of mäyä by even once visiting Mayapur. The power of mäyä will go far away, and the cycle of birth and death will cease for one who simply walks in Māyāpur."
