27. Prayers to the Dhāmavāsis

27. Prayers to the Dhāmavāsis:

“I make one request at the feet of the Vaiṣhṇavas. Let my relationship with Lord Gaurāṅga be sealed. Along with that relationship, let me reside in Navadvīpa for a long time. This is my wish. I am a worm in the hole of materialism, extremely evil in conduct, devoid of devotion, filled with lust and insane with anger. How else can such an evil person as I, the servant of Māyā, attain a relationship with Gaurāṅga?

“O Navadvīpa Dhāma! Give me mercy and appear in my heart. Then I can escape the cycle of repeated birth and death. Oh, Prauḍhā Māyā, protectress of the Dhāma, you are full of mercy, and are my only hope to cross over the troubles arising from ignorance. Vṛddha Śiva, protector of the Dhāma, please be merciful and let the transcendental Dhāma be revealed to my eyes. O residents of the Dhāma, all devotees of Gaurāṅga, please put your feet upon my head. Everyone please hear this prayer of mine, so that I may quickly attain the feet of Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu.” (Navadvipa Dhama Mahatmya)
